If you are currently running a version of Mojave, then you cannot update Mojave. You have to upgrade to Catalina. If you have automatic updates enabled in Software Update, then it should indicate the update is available. If you do nothing, then the upgrade will happen automatically. If you open Software Update, you should notice an Update button to the right of the message. Click the button if you wish to proceed with the upgrade. If the upgrade has downloaded a full installer, then look for it in your Applications folder. It should bear the name, "Install macOS Catalina".
