Hacking phone call

I got a 1800 call telling me my Apple ID was hacked. I want to verify that it is safe because this happened a few months ago and it was a sham

Phone call I just received a phone call from a 1-800# it was an automated call saying that my Apple ID has been hacked I hung up thinking it was A scam... how would I verify if there actually is a problem or if I was hacked?
