I cannot figure out which cable (or which combination of cable and adapters) I need to connect my iMac with Thunderbolt port to an older iMac with a MiniDisplay port. Any help would be appreciated, especially links to specific product(s).

What exactly are you attempting to achieve by connecting the two computers? I suspect you want to use the old iMac as an external display. If that is a correct guess please let us know the year and size display of the old Mac and the new Mac.
