Homekit cant connect with code

I have an LG TV and trying to set up homekit. When i select add accessory it comes up cant connect device, see pic. Why is this? We have the latest Lg TV and it is airplay compaitble.

iPad Air, iOS 12

AirPlay compatible will mean that it can act as a destination for AirPlay content, or even potentially a source. HomeKit is a separate set of protocols, for which I'm fairly sure you need a HomePod, Apple TV or iPad to function as a Home Hub.

I also tried adding it manually and it still said cant add accessory

Thanks, i have an ipad it is saying it cant connect on my ipad, i have tried bot scanning the code and entering manually and neither worked

Have you connected the LG TV to your Wi-Fi network yet? Is your network using any wireless isolation or guest network feature that might stop devices on the network communicating with each other?
