how do i update apps automatically... it does this on my ipad but doesn’t do this on my iphone XR and i have to go to app store to update apps

iPhone 5c, iOS 10

Settings>iTunes & App Store>App Updates>On.

Hi I did that still it doesn’t update apps automatically ... any other suggestions?
