Password for Software update on iPad

I am trying to update software on iPad, it will not accept my password, though password words on here, what can I do?

iPad Air 2, iOS 13

A passcode would be a four or more numerical digits you would enter when you first power-up your iPad. You would had to have enabled this as an additional security feature to access it.
