You can once its been downloaded and you have the file on your computer. You cannot import directly from the Youtube website no.

As Phil0124 said, you can import a You Tube video into iMovie once you have downloaded it to your desktop. However, there may be copyright issues that you need to observe. This is probably why You Tube lets you send links to videos but not download them directly. So, observe the legalities.
