I have had the apple upgrade program for 24 months. I am looking to upgrade my iphone 8+ to an 11 max but I'm not sure how to go about it since I now technically own the phone now, or have one payment left. Do I have to go into a store to do this? I live an hour away from the closest one so I was wondering what I should do.
The answer is likely country-dependent, and you don't say where you are, so the following may or may not apply.
For the US, at least, start at: https://www.apple.com/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program and follow the 'Check your upgrade eligibility' link. It will check your account and confirm your status, as well as telling you what your options are. If the phone is paid off then you should get to keep it, otherwise you return it to Apple as trade-in exchange for the new one.
