Update iwatch 4

I have iphone 6 and iwatch 4. I want to update my iwatch, but my iphone cannot upgrade to iOS 13. What should I do? It is not possible to buy a new iphone just to upgrade ios on iwatch.

People who have tried to get around this are very unhappy people right now.

Leave your Apple Watch as is until you do get a newer iPhone.

The alternative is to not have a working Apple Watch and still own an iPhone 6.

It is better to have an iPhone 6 and a working Apple Watch with watchOS 5

Unfortunately it appears that WatchOS 6 requires an iPhone 6s or newer. See at the very bottom of this webpage: https://www.apple.com/watchos/watchos-6/
