Locking Apple Watch While on Wrist - for parents with young kids

I've read some other posts and it appears there is no way to lock the Apple Watch while on your wrist unless you disable the wrist detection function (which also disables Apple Pay). I'm writing to see if Apple would consider adding a feature to allow you to lock it while on your wrist (without having to take it off) without having to disable the wrist detection function. I have three small children and many times during feedings or while holding them, they do all sorts of things with my Apple Watch while it's on my wrist (open texts, open apps, etc.). It would be nice to be able to easily lock it while its still on my wrist so when I am holding / nursing my baby, they can't activate it.

Apple Watch Series 4, watchOS 5
