I wanna trade in my old iphone which is 6s plus for iphone XR. But do i have to trade in my old iphone first before i get the new one? because if i do that, then i am not gonna be able to copy all of my old iphone information (app, pictures, etc) into the new iPhone...

You backup the old phone before you trade it in, then load that backup to the new phone. I did an iCloud backup of my 6s phone and did a WiFi reload to my XR in the Apple store when I did my trade in. Everything was transferred.

So if i backup my old iphone by using the iCloud backup, is it gonna copy everything from my phone? like photo, notes, recordings, apps any kind of that?
