Itunes not connecting with Books library

I upgraded my iPad last month. Since then, syncs with iTunes sync everything but Books. The Mac Books app shows my entire library but the books listed in iTunes do not reflect the same list. The iTunes list does not appear to have been updated since the day i started using the new iPad.

My user name, apple id, etc were not changed between the 2 iPads yet somehow it seems iTunes just can't seem to see my books library

See Managing apps with iTunes 12.7 or later - Apple Community. Integration with books was dropped in iTunes 12.7. You should be able to enable iCloud syncing of your library.
