Can't rename Folders in Apple Music for Mac

This bug has been happening for at least 1.5 years with many versions of Mac OS 14 and Music on Apple Silicon. Now I'm at Mac OS 14.8.1, Music 1.4.6.32 and the bug is the same. If I try to rename a folder in Music, then I can see that the name has changed in the big header at the top, but not in the column at the side. If I quit and reboot Music, the new name is gone (old one is still there, in both side column and big header at the top).

But there's more.... right after I do attempt this rename that doesn't stick, other bugs will happen 100% of the time: I can no longer delete or add any Playlist or Folder. Rebooting music "resets" that bug.

Occasionally, the problem also happens where also cannot rename playlists, but that's hit and miss.

in the case of Folders, and ONLY solution is to make another Folder with the desired rename, then manually move all contents from the old folder to the new one (a huge pain, because you can't 'select all Playlists' inside a Music Folder), and then delete the original Folder (after rebooting Music of course).

I had previously been using Apple Music on Intel (with Catalina), and then before that iTunes for about 15 years and never encountered that bug.

Fixing macOS Music App Bugs:

A. Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to Reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to performing thereinstall. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more, seeing if you still get this error.

B. Upgrading the macOS:

Ever consider upgrading to macOS 15 or later, seeing if anything changes? Sounds like lots of bug are within the app, and the app is an item of its own. So, create a Time Machine Backup of your Mac, and then try and upgrade. IF you don't like it, restore your Mac from the Time Machine.Backup you just created, if you don't like it.
