Cannot sync music from Mac (MacOS Sequoia) to iOS 26.2 on iPhone

After upgrading my iPhone 14 to iOS 26.2, I can no longer connect to my Mac (Sequoia 15.7.2) and sync playlists. In fact, ALL of the playlists on my phone are now missing.

I'm guessing that this has something to do with a new "feature" of Apple Music in iOS 26.2 but looking for confirmation.

Thanks!

I was able to resolve my problem. It would appear that in the upgrade to iOS 26.2, Apple implemented a soft configuration change to Apple Music which assumes that you are using iCloud to sync your music library and playlists across all devices. If you're old school and choose NOT to do that, you need to go into the settings of your iOS device, turn ON the Sync Library feature, and then turn it OFF.

Yes, that's f***ing retar***, but that's what it took to resolve the issue.

Best of luck.
