Does apple even care anymore?
Windows 11 and iTunes version 12.10.11.2 is so buggy it drives me crazy. Takes forever to load, sometimes doesn't recognize my iPod Touch 5, 99% won't complete syncing (stuck on step 5)...literally 99% of the time. However, it will sync my Touch 3 flawlessly. Nothing I try will fix this, nothing out there in the webiverse other than people saying much the same issues...wth Apple...
According to Apple you are running outdated software. See if it was fixed in newer versions.

It would certainly be a good idea to install the current version of iTunes:
Strong recommend against Apple Music/Devices/TV. These are less capable than iTunes. Installing any of them limits iTunes to managing audiobooks and podcasts, and supresses all device management functions in it.
If iTunes struggle to update a particular device it may be worth backing that device up, restoring it to factory condition, and then restoring your backup and selected media.
