I can't get my Mac to recognize my new iPad (Ver: iPadOS 18.6.2)for downloading music

How are you trying to get the Mac to recognize the iPad exactly?
Are you plugging it in with a USB-C cable?
Through a dock?
Where are you looking for the iPad on your Mac?
Does it not appear in Finder? Do you have the "CDs, DVDs and iOS devices" option checked in Finder Menu ➜ Settings ➜ Sidebar?
Does it issue an error?
