Sonoma 14.8.2 update problem

MacBook Air updated to Sonoma 14.8.2 last night and gratuitously wiped out an entire Pages file. Anyone else experience a similar issue? Any solutions, suggestions to recover it?

Based on my own experience over several years, I have never had an update or upgrade to a newer version of macOS remove any user files.


The smart thing to do is perform a last Time Machine backup prior to any update/upgrade, because now, if the Pages document is not still in your Trash, you can retrieve it from Time Machine by launching the Time Machine application.


If the document was on iCloud Drive, there is a 30-day sliding window where you could recover it:
