Touch ID button Not Showing in System Settings?

Hi, I'm trying to install a new Magic Keyboard with Touch ID on my older Mac. It's a M1 chip, running Sonoma 14.8. However, I'm unable to get the Touch ID button to appear on the side bar of System Settings. I've tried several 'fixes' discussed in the Community, but haven't found a one that specifically addresses the issue of lack of the Touch ID button. Anybody out there had this problem.

The Touch ID button appears in System Settings only when your M1 Mac detects a valid Touch ID sensor from your Magic Keyboard. If the Touch ID pane is missing, macOS isn’t seeing that sensor. Fixes include pairing the keyboard over Bluetooth (not USB), re-pairing so it identifies as “Magic Keyboard with Touch ID,” adjusting accessory connection permissions, resetting Bluetooth, and ensuring firmware updates. If none of that works, the keyboard’s Touch ID sensor may be defective.

For Full Functionality of the New Apple USB-C keyboard with Touch ID builtin into the keyboard

As per Apple, will require running at least Sequoia 15.1

Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 15.1 or later
