how to cancel removal request from find my device

My stolen iPhone shows ‘Will be removed on 14 Dec 2025’.

A thief used a phishing link to access my Apple ID.

I did NOT request this removal. how to cancel it?

The 30 day delay came in with Stolen Device Protection. If you or I reset the phone to factory without turning off SDP we would also be unable to sell the phone for 30 days. This is not yet included in the kb article "What to do before you sell or give away...."

Bottom line, as has been said, the bad guy removed it from activation using either a scam or the passcode and that started the 30 day clock. It is irreversible.

I'm sorry you fell for the scam, but once you gave the thief your account details, the countdown to deletion started and there is no way to remotely stop it. The phone is a lost cause. Contact your carrier and ask them to blacklist it.

Change your Apple Account Password, if you still can change it.

Go buy a new iPhone as you'll never see that phone again.

You can’t.

Remove a device from Find Devices on iCloud.com - Apple Support

There is an unlikely corner case where if the thief leaves your phone unmolested for 30 days, Activation Lock might switch itself back on. Practically speaking, a thief who has “phished” you is going to “make your phone their own” right away instead of waiting and letting that happen.

But I don’t see any way for you to turn Activation Lock back on remotely.

Unfortunately, you received a message from the thief that tricked you into providing your Apple account credentials.

I'm afraid it is too late to remove the request, since the thief has control of your phone.

But, I suppose that it would not hurt to log on to iCloud.com/find and see if it is possible to remove the request. What happens when you try? If the phone appears at all, I imagine that it will state "Offline", meaning that Find My cannot connect to the phone.
