MacBook Pro issue wth Dvd player

My MacBook Pro has suddenly stopped playing dvds before they reach the end. I have tried a different dvd player and different dvds with the same result. Also the dvds are all new so damage is not an issue. The dvd player used on a different MacBook plays all the way through. So, the issue has to be with my MacBook Pro.

We can better research this if you post the make and model of the player, and the sub-model (example: MacBook Pro 2017; 15-inch) and OS of the computer on which the player works.
