I have a 2020 mac book air, I was attempting to wipe it clean by restarting it so I could give it to a family member. After restarting it it keeps taking me to the "choose startup disc" page but it won't stop loading showing me no options. I have access to no apps as the screen is all black and Grey, im not sure how to get past this to make it work like normal again.

An inability to start your Mac in Recovery mode will be a hindrance to progress.
Following the video in How to start up from macOS Recovery - Apple Support, under Mac with Apple silicon, please describe the approximate point in that video that does not correspond to what you are experiencing. For example, does the text Loading startup options appear? If it never gets that far, be sure you are following all the steps prior to it. You first have to start with the Mac completely shut down, then press and hold the power button... etc.
Describe how far you get because it we are unable to get the Mac into Recovery that's as far as we can go on this site.
Unfortunately no, my screen is stuck on the choose startup disc page despite shut down or restart. I shut it down via the button and the screen flashed pink but it's still showing the disc page with no options.
