Clear Apple ID balance to change App Store region

Request to clearing a small remaining balance on my Apple ID account to enable me to change my App Store country or region from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan.


Dear Apple Support Team,


I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request your assistance in clearing a small remaining balance on my Apple ID account to enable me to change my App Store country or region from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan.


Previously, my App Store was set to the Saudi Arabia region, and my account currently holds a balance of 1.55 Saudi Riyals (SAR). I have recently relocated permanently to Pakistan and am no longer in Saudi Arabia. As I do not have access to a payment method that allows me to add funds in Saudi Riyals, and the remaining balance is insufficient to purchase even the least expensive item available in the Saudi App Store, I am unable to spend it down to zero on my own.


According to Apple’s official support documentation (https://support.apple.com/en-us/118283), when a remaining store credit balance is less than the cost of a single item and prevents a country or region change, customers should contact Apple Support for assistance in removing the balance.


I kindly request that you clear the remaining 1.55 SAR balance from my account (I understand this amount will be forfeited and do not require a refund). This will allow me to update my App Store region to Pakistan without further delay.


I would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to this matter, as it is preventing me from fully accessing App Store services in my current country of residence.

Remember that the people responding on the forums do not work for Apple. We are just regular Apple products users like yourself with no connection to Apple. We cannot do this for you but we can tall you how to proceed:


You can ask Apple Support to remove and keep the balance. Use https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=kbase&PGF=PGF63005&category_id=SC0998&symptom_id=20198 or the contact link in the section “If you can’t spend the last of your Apple Account balance to make changes to your account” in this article --> Check your Apple Account balance - Apple Support . You may be able to get chat support.

Apple will keep the balance when using this method .


Alternatively give Apple a phone call. Find a list of telephone numbers at: Contact Apple Support - Apple Support . You will need to contact Support for the country to which your account is set, but the telephone numbers are not international, nor does Apple provide telephone support in all countries.


If you can neither add a payment method nor contact Apple, your alternative is to create a new Apple Account. Avoid doing that if at all possible. It will cause a LOT of complications with your current content and could potentially also result in problems with using your hardware.

The issue-specific link I provide is the one on the USA version of the support article. However, my understanding is that issue-specific link may not redirect correctly for all users in the world. Since your account is still set to Saudi Arabia you should be able to contact online whatever kind of support is offered by Saudi Arabia Apple, even if it isn't for this particular issue, and then ask for help. This will not include telephone support since you are not physically present in Saudi Arabia. I don't think there is any Apple support in Pakistan of any kind, and even if there was they could not help you with an account set to Saudi Arabia.

Select from the presented options until you find a solution for your issue, or see if there is a chat or phone call contact method offered lower on the page under “Get more help” (you sometimes have to narrow down the options multiple times before this is shown). If you do not see your issue, keep experimenting with any series of selections until you reach one that offers a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.


I know in the end there might not be any real solution to this other than creating a new account and dealing with those issues. This issue is not an infrequent scenario posted on this support forum but that's all we (I) can offer.


We used to be able to recommend various ways to get support from other countries but over the years Apple has made this impossible. Even if you are willing to pay for a call, many of the telephone numbers will not work from other countries.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my post on the Apple Support Community and for providing such clear and detailed guidance. Your advice, especially the direct link to the support article section about spending down or removing a small remaining balance, has been extremely helpful.


I truly appreciate the effort you made to point me in the right direction. I was specifically hoping to find either a direct Apple Support chat link that works reliably from Pakistan or an official customer support email address where I could submit my request (with the remaining 1.55 SAR balance) in writing, mainly to avoid international call charges. If you happen to know of any current live-chat link that consistently offers the chat option for Apple ID / App Store region-change issues, or an official support email, I would be very grateful if you could share it.


Once again, thank you for your kind and thorough assistance—it is much appreciated by those of us outside the main supported regions.
