Can I re-pair an Apple Watch to a new iPhone without losing data if the previous paired phone is dead?
Can I re-pair an Apple Watch, to a new phone, if the old phone is dead/non responsive and I cannot boot it up any longer to do any sort of backup?
My watch is still counting my exercises on my Apple ID and my family gets the updates. The new phone shows my previous health data, but the last 1-2 days, since my old phone died, it’s not showing the recent watch data on the new phone. Probably since it’s not paired. It seems silly that the watch reports the data to my family though, but not to my phone.
I still have an old iPhone 13, from a year ago, I could transfer to the new IPhone 17, that had my watch info as well/pairing. But… would I then somehow still lose all my exercises/data, maybe even from the last year? Or lose the last how many days ,until I can do the transfer? I am not sure what my options are. Feels like I might be screwed/out of luck in any case. I have about 3 years of exercise data/goals on my account/watch.
My last phone, 16 pro, only a year old, maybe got zapped during charging, and Apple/another repair shop, could not even get a serial number off of it maybe, or other data. Something is very wrong. Maybe more than a battery, but feels more like fried USB port or motherboard. They said there was not any data/info to gather at all. So it seemed like some kind of hardware would have to be swapped/repaired, but who knows what and probably would have cost hundreds.
