Tell us what happens when you try to scan.

Are you attempting to use the front panel buttons of the scanner? This never worked for me with some older Canon scanners like the LiDE 200 and 210.

Have you tried scanning with the Image Capture application provided by Apple? You'll find it in the Applications folder. Maybe in Applications > Utilities.

Nothing happens because the Mac doesn't see the scanner. All protocols suggested by tech dept. have been tried.

Am not using the scanner's front panel, which is moot, as Scan2 app is not seen by the computer. It can be downloaded and opened but never finds the actual Epson unit.

Image Capture does not see the EpsonScan2 driver.

The one issue we drilled down to was the USB connector. The Epsom app warns that successfully using it depends on the USB connector. I'm using a new connector but the Mac mini only has USB 3. Epson suggests using the USB 2.0. Nice but I only have 3.0. Can I somehow trick the computer into believing it has 2.0 connections?

Further thoughts?

Btw, Epson's Tech Help was impressive, i.e., smart, knowledgable and patient, though not able to fix my problem yet. I will try one more time...
