Advanced underline styles are missing in Pages

Pages Regression — Advanced underline styles removed in Pages 14.x

Hello,

Since the update to Pages 14.x, all advanced underline controls have been removed from the UI and the macOS Font Panel, including:

double underline
dotted / dashed underline
wavy underline
underline weight and offset controls

The only remaining option is a simple on/off underline toggle (⌘U).

This is a functional regression from earlier versions of Pages and from the standard AppKit font panel capabilities.

These underline styles are required for academic formatting, linguistic annotation, accessibility conventions, and technical documentation.

Please restore the full underline style controls (previously exposed via the Font Panel and via Format → Font → Underline submenu).

Only MS Word provides wavy text underlines and Pages is deliberately not a Word clone.

As Pages v14.4 has not changed in 7 months, it was its interaction with macOS Tahoe 26.* that altered the functional design of the Show Fonts (⌘T) panel in the application. If you are using Light Appearance mode in the System Settings > Appearance, you wont see the white on white selector on that Show Fonts dialog that enables you to select the following (seen in Dark mode):

and in Dark mode, these controls are barely visible as seen below:

I suspect (and hope) that when Pages is eventually released with a version specifically updated for Tahoe, that some of this errata will get cleaned up.

Pages has never provided user selectable dotted/dashed/wavy underlines for document body text. It does provide Leader indicators (Text > Layout panel) to reveal tabs, and these are limited to dots, dashes, solid line, or right-connected arrows. And with Text boxes or Shapes, one can choose a Border and then different variations of that border line become available — but not double or wavy lines.
