2017 macbook air avg at 100 degrees C

I'm a tech guy but i have a 2017 MacBook air with the i7 and in teams and light gaming and it always avg at 100 degrees C and it avg 55-60 degrees on the home screen idealing i know 55-60 is normal but 100 sounds a little bit hot I never owned a mac before this is my first one so is it normal and if not what can I do to fix it

That's good. The fan runs as fast as it needs to run. No faster, no slower, just right for whatever you're doing.


When a Mac gets hot its CPU performance also gets throttled, resulting in reduced gaming performance — all in an effort to keep it within operating limitations managed by hardware components operating independently of the OS. You can't damage it even if you try.


100°C scalds human flesh but it's perfectly ok for silicon based life forms.
