Apple TV+ Shows don't save progress, but all other apps on Apple TV are perfect

I have an A1625 Apple TV (4th generation) running 18.6. The Apple TV+ shows never mark as played. Even if I fast forward through them, it just refuses. I’ve done all the restarts and logged out and back in. It’ll work for a week or month, then stop.

I’m supposed to be able to click and hold the middle button to manually mark them as played. Clicking and holding the big black button in the middle of the click wheel, if that’s what I’m supposed to do, doesn’t do anything.

All other apps work perfectly. It’s only Apple’s own app on it own hardware that does not. Ideas?
