Potential Microsoft subscription scam and iPad security check

I received an email supposedly from MS inviting me change my plan not long after I looked up ACCC action on their overcharging for subscriptions to MS365. I clicked the link, got onto the MS site, but in a chat there was such plan. Is this a scam and how do I check if my iPad is compromised?
