Emails not syncing from old iPad to new iPad Pro

broke my ipad pro 2 weeks ago,,it had 23 listed under my name...got a new ipad pro w 25 listed under my name..there is no way i can get my emails,which are in iCloud,

from 23pro onto my 25pro...tried everything...if u have tips please post here…thanks

Emails never sync from device to device; they sync with mail servers. For 2 devices to have the same mail they must both be logged in to the same mail server, so they both get the same messages.


Perhaps a long shot:


Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.

SBCGLOBAL rings a bell. As I recall, they used to use primarily the POP protocol for email and adopted the IMAP protocol later than most email providers. If your account had been on SBCGLOBAL's servers long enough, that old email might have been stored only on your old iPad.


Just how badly broken was the old iPad? Were you able to migrate any data from it to the new one other than through iCloud?

You must have at least one email account, if you had none then you would have no email at all.

Like I said if that one email account is the iCloud account that your ipad is signed-into, you simply need to check in Settings, Apps, Mail, Accounts that the icloud account shows "Use on this ipad" on (green) in both devices.

If it is turned on then take heed of Lawrence Finch's suggestion.

Thanks for replying….im going to wait a bit before I again work on this….ive tried everyway

possible for 2 weeks or more to add my email acc’t,nothing works..I’ve had computers and iPads for 20 years.

very very shook about this problem as I have emails going back to 2002 that are so irreplaceable to me..

they ,iCloud,sent me my pics and vids about a week ago,,3500..Sooo happy to get those..talked several times to

Apple support,,amoung other things I was told was ‘’they don’t handle emails’’’….my son in LA and I would even have 3 way talks w them….i need all of my contacts also,and important folders I had in my email..

My iPad that broke was named ‘’’Jane 23 smith’’…my new one is ‘’Jane smith25’’…

I still have no email,,not happy,,I only want my sbcglobal mail w all of my mails and contacts..

I put those names in Settings,,under Accounts,,now I see both the 23 name and the 25 name are

still there,,I don’t want to delete 23 name that’s where my emails are stored in the cloud..

Hi,,the old iPad had a hole in the middle of the screen maybe the size of a pea,from which emanated various

colored streaks on the screen…it had fallen on the floor and had struck a part of a table leg,,it had a heavy case on it

it hit just a certain way for this to happen……maybe about 3 days after I set up the new one,a 2024 13” Pro,it started to receive alll of my pics and vids I didn’t even request them from iCloud.

The cloud has restored my emails 2 or 3 times before,when I had purchased new iPads,I always wanted the

newer version of the pads..do u know a phone number for the cloud??
