I understand, but I disagree, it sounds like you're getting your “fraudulent/ungenine” information from conservative propaganda. I ONLY use eBay, and never buy from Amazon. I was scammed once on eBay and it was my fault, eBay caught it immediately after my purchase, shut down the seller, and reversed my payment. They were excellent, and kept an eye on my mistake for (1) year after.
It’s difficult to extend Apple product or actually any product past a certain date. You do have to check out the source, but ebay has been an excellent source of continuing a product that has been annoyingly cancelled out so you have to buy a new model. Actually it’s Amazon I would be leery of. A company we will not stop buying from, a huge conglomerate taking over the country, and not one person is paying attention.
As for eBay, you have everyday people trying to sell old, discontinued, brand new overstock, collectible items at a price we can afford. A second income, trying to show their initiative in this do or die world with a mentality of the 1930s.
Lastly, we live in a “no regulation” country. You have to be careful with everything you do, purchase, contracting, and even opening the wrong email and click on something that will cost you. My rule is check (5) “legitimate” sources before you click.
