When using the apple keyboard, whenever I am trying to type anything, in an email, or in this very post. I get an annoying grey bar that pops up and I can’t figure out how to turn it off.

I tried going into settings>Keyboard>Shortcuts and turning that off as suggested, but hit hasn’t changed anything.

Are you referring to this bar?
If so, that is part of the Apple Support Communities communication framework and cannot be removed. It’s the way to change format, or insert things like a URL or screenshot. I relied on it to insert the screenshot above.
