iPhone 17 Photos app missing slideshow transition speed control

One major issue concerns the Photos app on iPhone 17.

In earlier versions of iOS, it was possible to adjust the speed of photo transitions when creating a slideshow — either to speed it up or slow it down.

Since the iOS 26 update, this function has been completely removed. There is now no option to control transition speedat all, which makes it impossible to create a smooth or customized presentation.

After many hours of trial and error, and only with external help, I managed to build an improvised workaround — essentially a patchwork solution combining different apps — just to regain basic slideshow functionality. But this is notthe seamless, one-click experience Apple used to provide.

Were you aware that you were reporting this only to other users, and we can do nothing about it? If your intention was to request that Apple correct the situation, you should contact actual Apple staff through their Feedback portal for such matters: Feedback - Photos - Apple

Don't expect any direct reply, but we have been assured that they do have a team reading our input at that portal and tabulating it for the decision makers.
