Magic Keyboard battery drains faster

I am writing to report an issue with my Apple Magic Keyboard, which has been experiencing unusually fast battery drain.

The keyboard itself has no visible physical damage and functions properly otherwise. However, I have noticed that the battery drains very quickly when the switch is turned on, even when the keyboard is idle and not in active use. Interestingly, when the switch is turned off, there is no battery drain at all.

This leads me to believe the problem might be software-related, possibly due to the keyboard not entering standby or sleep mode properly when not in use.

I have already tried basic troubleshooting steps such as:

Ensuring the firmware is up to date

Resetting Bluetooth connections

Re-pairing the device

Despite this, the issue persists. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter or advise on any potential fixes. If this is a known software issue, please let me know if a firmware update or replacement is required.

Kindly let me know how I can proceed further.

you can't report it to us, we are not apple

these forums are user helping other users like yourself, it's sort of going

to a physical apple store and asking other customers there advice

it sounds like a perodic defect microswitch under on of the keys that keep activating on and off "waking" the keyboard up continiously draining the batt in the process to me.
