Mac shows connected to Wi-Fi but takes minutes to load after waking up

Every time I open my Mac from sleep, it shows that it’s still connected to Wi-Fi, but the internet doesn’t actually work for a few minutes. Pages won’t load right away — I have to wait before the connection starts working again. It never fully disconnects; it just takes a while to “wake up” even though it says it’s connected.

This happens consistently whenever I open my Mac. Once it finally connects, everything works fine until it goes to sleep again.

You do not say what exact MacBook AIR is this(?) or what exact macOS you are currently running...?
