syncing ipad with MacBook pro

trying to sinc iPad with MacBook pro using a cable connection. my mac mail will not come on my non cloud account

iPad Pro, iPadOS 18

Sorry, your question is a bit confusing.


If you are trying to sync with a cable, iCloud and your iCloud account are not involved.


When you connect your iPad to the Mac, it should appear in the Finder's side bar under Locations.

In that case the cable connection won’t do anything. As explained by AlWeir you need to setup your email account in Settings on the iPad.
