will newest ipads work with bluetooth or wireless earbuds on any plane

I have just used old iPad and wireless earbuds on flight (domestic). Since there are no head jack outlet on new ones can I use wirelessly on all flights with Bluetooth earbuds or will a transmitter for signal be needed especially overseas flight. American domestic flight worked with no transmitter. Thank you.

I would guess that you could wirelessly pair an iPad with Bluetooth headphones using the iPad's built-in Bluetooth radio. As to whether you would be allowed to use Bluetooth on all flights, and when you might be required to shut it off, that would be up to the airlines and the aviation authorities.

If you wanted to use a USB-C-equipped iPad with wired headphones, there is this adapter:

Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter

There used to be an Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter, but I can't find it in the online Apple Store. Hopefully Apple has not discontinued it.
