Drive icons (but not only) on my desktop keep moving all over the place, for years, no matter what OS I used

Now I'm on Tahoe, 26.01 but......

I continue to have problems with the drive icons on my desktop, they don't to remain in their position, no matter what I do. I position the way I want to have them all the time, below the Mackintosh HD, vertically.

If I double-click a dmg it creates an icon and it moves all the time my drive icons all over the desktop. If I restart and sometimes after sleep it happens the same thing, they shift places. I played with View Options Command J, in all the possible ways, but lo luck.

It is like in the previous MacOS version, and in the previous of the previous... and so on, for ages.

Apple this is started to be ridiculous.....

Don't you guys have a Mac at home, can't you see what is happening, version after version after version the same problem ???

Forget the advise Snap to grid and Stack by None, I tried them all

As an aside, I've always managed my desktop manually and never seen the issue you describe.
