remove empty file folders on desk

I have tried command+delete they duplicate I started with 2 file folders I now have 13 copies.

I have tried command drag them over to trash..it asks for my password, nothing happens.

I get the message operation can't be completed because "unwanted1copy 8" needs to be downloaded. There is nothing in these folders, they are copies.

I've tried putting them in 1 folder and move to documents...it won't accept any more folders, even if I rename them.

how do I do this in Terminal?

Shut down & restart your Mac to see if it makes a difference.

Does just dragging them to the Trash not work? What about selecting one of the folders, then doing File > Move to Trash?

I transferred the files that I wanted to delete to my guest files, then I was able to move the to the desktop into 1 folder.

I discovered this on YouTube..I don't have any other answer for you.

I’ve tried all this did not work.

I still have one folder left, I put 14 file folders in a guest user transferred them into 1 folder.

I still have this folder on the desktop
