Audio Jack Headphones Not Detected After Sleep Since Update to macOS 26.0.1

Since updating to macOS 26.0.1, I've been experiencing a recurring issue where my wired 3.5mm headphones are no longer detected each morning after my Mac wakes from sleep (typically overnight with the lid closed).

The pattern is consistent:

- After waking the Mac, the headphones are not recognised — no sound is output, and they don't appear as an available audio output device in System Settings > Sound.

- Simply plugging and unplugging the headphones does not fix the issue.

- The only workaround so far is to unplug the headphones, restart the Mac, and then plug them back in — this temporarily restores audio functionality.

- However, the problem reoccurs the next time the Mac goes to sleep.

This strongly suggests a bug related to audio hardware detection during wake from sleep mode introduced in this update.

Troubleshooting attempted:

- Unplugging the headphones, restarting the Mac, then plugging them back in — works temporarily

- Testing multiple pairs of 3.5mm headphones (same result)

- Running `sudo killall coreaudiod` in Terminal — no improvement; the audio daemon restarts, but headphone detection remains broken

Has anyone else encountered this behaviour after the update? Any known workarounds or fixes would be greatly appreciated.
