Cannot return an order bought with an Apple Card

I ordered a new ipad and signed up for an apple card as part of the purchase. Unfortunately my order ended up going to the wrong address. It was an old address but one in my address book so it was my mistake. I contacted apple and they contacted the shipper who returned the order, unopened and cancelled the order.

It has now been many months that apple card keeps chasing me down and wants me to pay them. The order was cancelled and I have received nothing from apple. But Barclays wants me to pay them for "apple cash". I have not used "apple cash" and not sure what it is or why I should have it or pay for it. I surely did not buy "apple cash" and if so I would have returned it. I asked multiple times for the company to cancel this account as I have purchased nothing with the card and cannot keep getting people calling me.

Has anyone figured out how to get apple to allow you to return a product successfully that they purchased using an apple card ?
