iPhone 13 screen flickers and vibrates after restart when swiping up with no apps open

iphone 13, I've noticed something rather bizarre, it's been occurring as long as i can remember with various ios systems, but i finally want to ask about it. I have OCD, i will double check light switches and door locks even tho i know they are off/locked 🙄. I'm in the habit of closing apps when im not using them, doing it by swiping up in the middle to bring up the app switcher, or whatever it's called. Usually if they are all closed already and i swipe up, the screen will just go dark for a second and then come back. However, if you close all the apps, then turn your phone off, or restart, once powered up, before opening any apps, if you swipe up to "check" that apps are closed, the phone will go into what looks like a seizure or something, the screen goes dark and twitches, vibrates, it will stay that way until you tap the screen, then it will be on the home screen as normal, it only happens the very first time you swipe up after starting the phone, and only if all the apps are already closed, if an app is open or even the second time you try it, it just blinks the screen like it normally will when apps are already closed. The way i discovered it was because i always close all apps, and i turn my phone off at night when i charge it, after turning it on in the morning my OCD will get the better of me and i'll check to see if the apps are closed when they already were. i've experimented and able to duplicate it just by turning the phone off and on, it doesn't need to be off all night like mine is. I know it's probably something i shouldn't be doing, but i can't be the only one that has discovered this action, i want to know why it does it, and if it's bad for the phone, it looks bad mainly cause you don't want to see any electronic device twitching and seizing 🙄. I just want to know why it does that, if it is intentional for some reason, or if it's a "glitch" of some sort... Any information would be nice, thank you

I understand your condition, I like to close apps after use especially camera, youtube, instagram etc that have been streaming, even though we should not, and it isn’t needed or good for the phone.

However turning the phone off then on again later is definitely not recommended, it takes a while for the operating system to get its ducks in a row, which uses power. And so the behaviour you describe is not surprising but harmless

Don’t do it, keep it turned on, and on charge and on wifi at night.

well i've read many times on different sites that they do recommend turning your phone off once in a while cause it helps restart/reset various things, might be why almost every solution to a problem is to first restart your phone 🤔. i mainly do it cause i know it charges quicker while off, and i don't need to be disturbed by anything while im sleeping...regardless of my reasoning, my question still remains, why does it do that? is it intentional? is it performing some sort of process in the background? is it a "glitch" that no one has ever discovered before? i'm just extremely curious 🤔😁.

thanks for that, i get it, might not be doing any good, but neither am i when i double check my door locks, light switches, thermostat etc. after i use my phone for a while and im ready to lock it and put it down, i just like the idea of everything being cleared, off, not running, etc. i do something similar after browsing by always going to safari settings and clearing resent website data, its just part of me i guess 🙄. i do appreciate the reply from you 😁

thank you for the reply, tho it doesn't really address my concern/question. doesn't really matter if the action is "closing" an app or "clearing" an app from a recently used list. if you swipe them all away. and then bring up the app switcher again, it will just give you a little blink of the screen, or a wink, as if to say "nothing to clear, you already did that" haha. however; if you clear all of them, and then turn your phone off and back on, then once to home screen, before opening anything else up, try to open the app switcher again, the phone goes haywire, the screen gets blurry and dark, kinda shakes or vibrates, and seems to stay that way until you tap the screen, not sure how long it would do it, i've only let it go for a second or two just in case it's hurting something. it only happens the 1st time you try it, if you do it again you will just get the normal wink saying already cleared bonehead haha. so was that programmed in intentionally for some reason ? is it a glitch that took a freak like me to find ? i'm just very curious as to what exactly is happening. thanks again for your reply

okay i did that, still happens, you can duplicate the issue very easily and let me know if your phone does it, or maybe it's just my particular phone? idk. i'd actually like it if someone else did try it and let me know what happens. just clear all your apps, make sure they are clear if you want by opening the switcher again, it should blink once quickly and stay on the home screen. now turn the phone off in a normal way, not forced or anything, leave it off for 10 seconds or so, power it back up and once to home screen, before opening anything up, try the app switcher and see what happens, my phone goes nuts, i quickly tap the screen and it stops, if i open the switcher again, it just does the normal blink like it does if you open it a second time after clearing all apps. it only goes nuts when all apps are clear, and you turn the phone off and back on, doesn't matter if it's off all night or just a few seconds. when you try the switcher for the first time before opening any apps after powering on, it does something strange. i appreciate the help you gave me to try, thank you

i was just thinking, although people say it doesn't really do anything by "closing" the apps, it must do "something". for example, if i'm logged into my bank app, and i briefly use the phone, or do a text message, when i go back to my bank app im still logged in and on the same page. however if im logged in my bank app, and i swipe it away, when i reopen it im back to the log in section. same thing happens if logged in to a site on safari, you can go to the home screen or open other apps and stay logged in, but if you clear safari from that list, you are no longer on that site let alone logged in. i know im off my post topic, i just wanted to mention that stuff... to me, swiping them away must have some benefit, and i like the idea that when you do send them away, no one else can open it up and be logged in to whatever i'm doing 😜😉... i appreciate your time to reply to me, thank you 👍

is anyone willing to duplicate this "issue"? i don't think it will hurt your phone 🤔. i've done it several times over the last year or so when my OCD gets the better of me🙄. if several people try it we could possibly narrow it down to a software issue,(if everybody's did it), or a hardware problem, like if only select models did it. maybe it's only the 13. maybe it's

every model up to a certain version. maybe it's literally only my phone. maybe i'm hallucinating the whole thing 🤪... it would be interesting to hear from others.... thanks to anyone who is willing to try

nobody feel like replicating this action ? i'm curious to see if it happens on other models or not. maybe we could figure out if it's in the software or the hardware by knowing if all phones do it, or only certain models up to a specific phone.... thanks to anyone who is willing to try it, please let me know what happens if/when someone does, much appreciated... it's mainly a curiosity at this point.
