Take a look at these two pics. I am trying to edit my friends iphone videos, and use that gaussian blur effect behind the video, you know, where you layer the same video on top of the original, and you blur the background one. But , the second blurred clip is not sticking, or staying. It's kinda dissappearing. Can you help ? What's goin on here please?

I have no idea what is causing your problem because it works perfectly in FCP 11.2 and you don't give any details of your exact procedure.
What about clicking on the "Done" button at the top right of the Viewer?
As far as my procedure , I am clicking the bottom of the two said same
clips , then increasing the size, but when I increase the size it goes
black as you can see in the second picture. When I click on the two
squares that you can see here in the attached picture , it shows up
again, but then I hit done and it vanishes....
When I hit done is when it disappears.
I'm going to try editing it on a diff computer
It's not letting me attach another picture
Are you using a 360º clip in a regular project?
This may be related to your issue.
Alas, I don't have a 360º clip to test.
