Proxy Media Differs from Original Media in Timeline

The proxy media in my timeline differs from the original media, even though both use the same source recording. It's as if the original media is time-shifted. The sizes of the clips are the same when switching from proxy to original, but they differ in the portion of the video being used. I've included two images to illustrate this.

The proxy media has the correct sequencing, so is there any way I can get the original media to reflect this?

I'm glad you were able to solve it, but not sure what you mean by "relinking the proxy media to the original media." What were the exact steps you took to solve your issue? This may help others who come across this thread in the future.

FCP can create proxies as the footage is being imported or later after the footage has been imported by selecting the footage in the browser, right-clicking and choosing Transcode... and selecting one of the proxy frames sizes and codecs.

Then in the View menu above the Viewer window you can choose to work with the Proxy footage or the Original/Optimized footage. There's also a Proxy Preferred option to show proxies when they are available and the Original/Optimized footage when they're not.
