Unable to access screenshot and quick notes features on iPad with iOS 26

I cannot swipe up from the left corner of my iPad for a screen shot, nor swipe up from the right corner for quick notes. All that happens it he 'window' changes shape. How do I do screen shots and get my quick notes access when I'm browsing or playing a game?
