Apps gone due to restrictions after dowloading iOS 26

I just installed iOS 26 and now almost half of my apps are gone due to them being restricted. I've tried going into my settings and turning the restrictions off, but they are still restricted. I am underage but my parents don't have iPhones and they use Verizon Family Companion to restrict my apps. However, it only restricts apps that are 18+. After the update, I cant even use apps that are 12+ and I think that's ridiculous. Is there any way I can get my apps back?

Since the Verizon Family Companion uses a VPN to ensure device restrictions, I can only assume it is the VPN that does not allow you to change your Age Rating in Screen Time to allow the apps shown as excluded. You can check with Verizon on the usage of Family Companion here:

I will also include the contact number for Apple, but any restrictions placed on your device through a third party service is not something Apple can resolve.

There have been changes in both age restrictions and VPN connectivity in iOS 26.

Sorry, I have not used the Verizon Family Companion app to test and if there was a problem with that app not allowing access, it would have to be something that Verizon fixes with their implementation.

Screen Time restrictions can be placed on your device that have nothing to do with the Verizon app, and does not need to be managed from another Apple device. Can you go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > App Store, Media, Web & Games > Apps, and set the Age Rating for apps? If not then a Screen Time passcode has been placed on your device to prevent any changes.

When viewing the age restrictions in Screen Time at the Settings location noted previously, that is for what is NOT allowed. There is no 12+ option on iOS 26 for a Screen Time Restriction, but if the Age Rating you see there says 13+, that means you cannot get apps that are rated for 13 or older, it does not mean you can use apps that are rated for 13 and over.

I am experiencing this as well. I’m 15 but suddenly not able to download any apps higher than 9+. I have changed my age range on apps multiple times but it continues to revert back to this. I’ve even taken off content restrictions in general. I would love to have this bug fixed. Please reply to me with any updates.

If your plan includes the Verizon Family Companion, like is used by the OP where you replied, then the solution is not going to come from Apple and that Verizon Plan is working exactly like it was designed. What makes you think that is a bug?

If the account owner is not using Verizon Family, then I would suggest creating a new post with your specific details as that issue would not be the same as what is found here.

I've tried to set the age rating multiple times, but it still says 12+ apps are above the age rating, which isn't true. I also looked to see if a screen time passcode has been placed and there's none there. I added one, took it away, but still no change. I also tried changing my age on my Apple account to an older one but that also doesn't work? It's so weird.
