Earpod Default Volume Potential Health Risk
When I connect my AirPods Pro 2 to my MacBook, the system automatically sets the volume to 50%. This is dangerously loud when headphones are already in my ears. Previously, the connection respected the last used volume (e.g., 1–2 ticks), but this safety feature no longer works.
I have attempted all standard troubleshooting steps: restarting my MacBook, forgetting and re-pairing the AirPods, and resetting Bluetooth. Both my AirPods and MacBook are fully updated as of the time of writing.
This issue poses a serious health risk, as sudden exposure to high volumes can cause physical harm, including hearing damage and potential long-term auditory injury. Apple could be liable for physical abuse or negligence if users continue to be subjected to these unsafe automatic volume levels. Immediate support or a fix is required.
