what is Apple's recommended DVD Ripper to use with Apple TV?

I have a large number of DVDs to rip so I can watch them on my iMac but I can't seem to find one that works. Handbrake gives me a copywrite error and every setting gives me an hour of static then various things past that.

DVD copy program I have a MacBook Air and an external blue ray player. I am trying to fin a program to copy DVD movies to blank DVDs. I cannot find one. Any suggestions?

Casting from Mac (Ventura) with external dvd player to TV I have an external DVD player which seems to work fine in conjunction with the Mac itself. And I can screen mirror to my LG TV with no problem. But the combination does not work. As soon as I go to mirroring, the DVD app just displays a gray box, overwriting the video (apparently). I'm guessing it has something to do with resolving conflicts in resolution or the like, but do not know how to go about fixing the problem. Suggestions? Thanks!

which is not legal

then it would be pretty crazy if apple had a recommended way of doing so
