Hello, I have an iPhone 8 and apparently there is a new iOS 26 update that everyone in my contacts has been getting and I was wondering how to get it on my iPhone 8?

Your iPhone 8 was discontinued from the latest iOS updates a few years ago. As a matter of fact it didn't receive iOS 17 or 18, so as a result it won't receive iOS 26. The latest software is supported on the iPhone 11 and later.

False. It is not possible to install iOS 26 on an iPhone 8.
I hate when I look up things like" does iphone 8 support ios 26," and it says "NO." it apparently does work though because it is available on my friends phone , and he doesn't have the beta he has the official ios26. So, iphone 8 as of what I know from any other phone runs ios 26 officially!
either your friend is lying or they don't have an iPhone 8. They have an iPhone SE. The SE is virtually indistinguishable from the iPhone 8 in appearance.

Nope. iOS 26 does not support iPhone 8.
That’s an iPhone SE 2nd or 3rd.
Physically very similar to an iPhone 8, but with different internals, and supported with iOS 26.
Or that is an unsupported jailbreak.

Fundamentally, because Apple does not support iPhone 8 past iOS 16.
The A11 Bionic processor has known hardware security issues.
iOS 18 and later support only Apple silicon processors without those particular issues, too.

No they can't update your phone 8 to iOS 26.2, had you bothered to read any of the answers in this two page post you would know that an iPhone 8+ can't go beyond iOS 16.7.12
How would you expect them to email you when they have no idea who you are?

Apple isn't going to update your iPhone for you. And we're certainly not going to do that, either.
As has been mentioned once or twice in this thread, iOS 26 requires an iPhone SE 2nd or newer, iPhone 11 or newer, or iPhone Air.
iPhone 8 is not supported with iOS 26. An iPhone 8 is supported to iOS 16, and no later.

Repeating a question that was already answered in this two-page thread, and that three volunteers answered again, in response to your posts, will not change the answer.
If you want iOS 26, you need to buy a newer iPhone.
