iPhone 17 pro CarPlay freezing and crashing

I’ve got a new iPhone 17 pro. Running iOS 26.0 23a345

im on AT&T. My car is a 2017 Chevy bolt with a built in infotainment center. Connected with a usb A to usb C cable.

The CarPlay works when first connected, I’ve typically got apple maps up and something playing music in the background like Amazon Music. Also have had it lock up on a phone call. It just randomly freezes and quits CarPlay. I’ve seen it go up to maybe 10 minutes before freezing but I’ve had it less than a minute also.

This is unacceptable.

I swapped out the unmarked generic usb-A to usb-C cable with a name brand Anker one and it looks like my problem has been resolved.

this is the cable I used and it did work.

Same issue. Works for few mins, freeze and disconnect.

just upgraded from 12 Pro Max to 17 Pro Max. 2019 F150 Raptor with Sync 3 latest firmware. Anker USB to USB C cable.

tried different cables, network reset, witch craft. No work.

12 Pro Max worked for years without an issue. It’s the 17 pro’s software and Apple need to work on a fix.

Update - After trying several different cables, including some name brands, I purchased the Anker cables that another user suggested and it worked! Problem solved, at least for me.

So I fixed this! If you go to settings - privacy & security - scroll down to security and change wired accessories to ‘always allow’ it *should* fix this.
