  • When you receive an invitation to join an Apple Family Sharing group, then react to that by accepting that invitation. Being added alone is not enough, you need to confirm on your device (or alternatively on the organizer’s device).
  • Verify that you joined the Family Sharing group using the same Apple Account as you are using for Apple Music, same account as your iPhone setup.
  • You can see in your Settings﹥[You/Your Apple Account]﹥Family﹥… what services should apply to you.
  • You would not see an active subscription for this in your own subscriptions overview (only the original subscriber does), but instead have access to the Apple Music subscription content in the Apple Music app on your own Apple Account, with your personal library and playlists, just by being part of the group where one of the group members has this Apple Music Family subscription.
  • If the original subscriber has an Apple Music Individual or Apple Music Student subscription, then that is unfortunately not shareable in Family Sharing. It needs to be the Apple Music Family subscription tier.
